AXIOM e-Commerce Modules

AXIOM’s e-Commerce module provides for the generation of output and processing of input documents from and into primary AXIOM application modules such as finance, sales order management, material tracking and control, and quality tracking and control. These XML formatted documents can be provided by or supplied to electronic data exchange software packages such as those provided by Sterling Commerce, Harbinger, and i-Way Solutions. Those packages map the AXIOM e-Commerce XML document to or from the file format utilized by the trading partner. The electronic data exchange software also provides security, as well as communication to the outside world.

What is e-Commerce?

E-commerce is defined as the buying and selling of goods and services, as well as the transfer of funds, through digital communication. E-commerce also includes inter-company and intra-company functions, such as sales, purchasing, logistics, and manufacturing. A variety of business-to-business communication methods/protocols may be utilized to support e-commerce. These methods/protocols include EDI, FTP, electronic mail, digital fax, or any interaction with a remote computer. A variety of file formats may be utilized, such as XML, X.12, or COMPORD.
